The Painter Artist en Galerie
Catalan Painter born in Perpignan, Boris is inspired by "raw" materials, mixtures of pigments, charcoal and acrylic.
He evolves by literally tearing extracts of light from the deposited black pigments, with his very singular technique, that of the crumb of bread which he patinates and erodes in successive layers on the canvas.
His painting offers us an almost Manichean, spiritual and even sacred dimension.
His work of textures and the depth of layers, almost antique, suggests an “in between” era where figurative and contemporary clash.
He inks his painting like monoliths, like an archaeologist, patiently sculpting the bark of his obsessive relationship to time.
From his works emanates a serenity, a philosophy of his own, an emotional paradox borrowed from this feeling that he finds under water, imagining an ancient city to discover, or in the alcoves of a silent building, in the light candles, listening to the echo of footsteps resonating on the walls, bringing life back to the marble statues that guard his imagination.
He likes to turn off the light of the studio by watching the evolution of his canvas, which appears according to the intensity of the day, living or sleeping.
A “cathartic discovery” as he likes to define it.
